  • too bad that this castle is empty there's only some temporary exhibitions a see the rooms are empty the only advantage is the closeness to the old town

  • The rehabilitation of the main façade gives the impression of entry has Disney land and takes some of the charm of a historic building. It's what's missing in this castle without souls. The expos art... how to say... too bad for the taxes we pay for it because I think that introduce them only understand the interest of the works presented. Fluke admission is free the first Sunday of the month of October has April.

  • We thought at least to find a minimum of the history of the Castle, which could have been relevant especially during this visit (purpose of construction, date etc...). We have had the right to a few panels in different buildings. Unfortunately, despite the restoration of this building majestic, it is only the exhibition of modern art that are of no interest to me. If we want to see modern art we're going in the appropriate Museum. There is also a museum on fishing and the protection of the Annecy Lake, which would have more place on the Lake and not in the middle of the Castle. In conclusion, do fill the rooms with things without interest for the price of €5.20 per person, the pill hard to pass. , and it spoils the image of the Castle.

  • Lots to look at, plenty of nooks to explore with spectacular views (and a worthy pano shot to be had at the loos). Also randomly a small aquarium. It may not be the grandest but it was a varied exploratory way to kill an hourish.
  • This is a crazy museum visit more than a castle visit. You do see plenty of the castle in the process, but it's an odd heavily-modified castle (13-1800's) and hence is weird and inconsistent, rather than a classic medieval or fairytale castle. The museum's odd and rambling - castle and local history, very old documents and wax seals and locks, old furniture and tools and weapons, old art of the local area, an exhibition of castle architecture drawings, some sculpture, and then... a contemporary art gallery over several levels, which at the time of our visit had an exhibition of animators' drawings (we narrowly missed the Annecy animation festival) and various modern sculpture/installation pieces, in the incongruous castle tower setting. Finally, there is a separate (but included-in-ticket) museum building of local ecosystems (complete with aquarium), fishing/hunting, info on the lake and agricultural history. It's all worth a visit if you're in Annecy and have time - allow 3hrs to see it all - but nearby Montrottier is more of a typical castle.
  • Outstanding views over Lyon. Amazing church. Catch the funicular up.
  • i thought it is all about the castle, but it turned out ,as it is called, it is a museum in the castle. it display some artworks and do a campaign as well, . on top of that, there is an aquarium in the castle. last but at least, it has a great view of anncey
  • Somewhat hidden from the crowded part of the village lays this beautiful chateau on top of a little hill.
