4.5/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web
Breath in the savage beauty of the Gorges du Fier from walkways built 24 m (79 ft) above the burbling waters. Read the signs you see along the path, as the information will reveal a surprise. Also stop in the little room at the end to see film footage that shows the changes in water level. You'll be glad the water is low as you cross the wooden bridge and feel the spray sprinkle on your face. • Great tour of the Gorges of the proud, beautiful view, (still predict a good jacket for the fall because it's a bit cold). Course with small explanatory panel really interesting. Visit 1 h 30, very friendly family or friends. It's a passage oblige if you go through Annecy.

  • We visited this Gorge in early October. Great view, I recommend bringing camera!! Suitable for children, there is a billboard with the legend of Princess written also in Italian and other languages. At the entrance is given a brochure in Italian. It is not possible to bring strollers. Recommended! P.s.: Check closing dates as from 15 October will be closed for winter break!

  • Amazing very narrow and complexly eroded gorge. More like a cave river with open roof. You traverse about 500m (and back same way) along a slightly dilapidated walkway 20m above the "normal" river level (and still 20m below the top), then some river bank around more crazy river erosion, then back same way. The river's been known to flood much deeper than the walkway during spring melt, and there are some bad videos and photos of this, plus some boards with ecosystem info and cute local fairytales, but the highlight is the gorge itself.
  • Worth a trip there, we drive up there from annecy about 40 mins !
  • A very nice detour worth a short visit to see an example of how nature can produce spectacular things.
  • We went in late October unfortunately the walk way to the gorge was closed but still worth visiting no one around anf the scenic train line was amazing. The Autumn colors on the trees were amazing. Good photography. .
  • Very nice attraction, the kids loved the roaring water under their feet!
