Musee des Beaux-Arts, Angers

(4.3/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
A stunning example of turn-of-the-century architecture, Musee des Beaux-Arts is complete with a radiant central patio that lights the work of Picasso, Rubens, and Kandinsky. The museum houses 11 of Kandinsky’s influential works, to be exact. After you’ve been inspired by the brushstrokes of days past, then check out the Grand d’Art wing, completed in 2013 by architect Stanton Williams. Don’t leave out the Chapel of the Oratory, which the museum annexed. It’s no longer a place of worship, but it still offers a welcome respite. • Museum gorgeous but one has the impression of interfering. The staff that monitors following us as if we were going to steal something, there seems not to be welcome.

  • A Museum in a great castle... has a few blocks from the place of the rally (the most beautiful square of angers) friendly... great staff... all-pervading... beautiful paintings of the gigantic sculptures... brief a treat

  • The visit to discover many paintings over the centuries. The different rooms are elegant and well-designed. Free for less than 26 years. It is proposed by the Museum to redo some tables in the form of a puzzle during the visit, which is great for children (and even adults). Without lingering on each table the visit lasts about 45 minutes.

  • Generous space, the Museum of fine arts dangers is always a pleasure, the works are delicate and varied. There is the art of the renaissance to the contemporary art. This museum is nice and bright.
