Chateau de Brissac, Angers
(4.4/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
The tallest château in the Loire Valley, Chateau de Brissac has seven stories overlooking the sumptuous curves of the surrounding landscape. It’s also a posh locale for the Val de Loire festival. Once the French location for Brazil's celebrity magazine, “Caras,” the castle was also the stadium for Iron Chef France. Chosen as a spot to showcase French cuisine--and celebrities--because of its elegant rooms, the château is a classic example of austere French elegance, gilded in gold and fit for a king. • Sure, it's the highest Castle in France. So high that its architecture seems disproportionate. In any case, to see because surprising. On the other hand, apers a picnic in the Park, the visit is pleasant throughout many parts that can be seen. I was touched by the room or was received Louis XIII and his mother Mary of Medicis. Firstly because the furniture are beautiful, but also because he has been rather unknown history. Imagine that it is precisely here that the mother and the royal son reconciled. Not for long because Marie was a sacred pistoise. It will eventually push MOM outside (of france) to finally have peace. Then Brissac, you understand, it was probably a good memory for Louis... and probably for you.

  • The site is well maintained, the sumptuous park. The visit is clearly commented and all the wonders that contains the Castle, are well explained. the estate of the owner is a history lesson. The evolution of architectural styles is very visible and helps to understand the different styles. The visit to the Castle ends with a visit to the cellars. Tasting and sale of the wines of the estate are available here. Nice way to end this great visit

  • It's a beautiful place! A modern and open cultural development. For tourists: not to be missed. For premises: to see or review.

  • Been here twice. Dog friendly location. Interesting as the way it was built and the caves.
  • Nice place to visit.
  • Lovely grounds but the guided tour is tortuous!
  • Amazing place, well worth a visit
  • Very interesting private castle, where you could even stay!
