Castle
is a historic castle situated in the city of Angers, Loire Valley, in the department of Maine-et-Loire. This place has a rich history, and you will greatly appreciate this castle, which was built in the 9th century, for its unique structural design. Further construction in the thirteenth century added to the size of this castle. The castle served as a fortress because of its strategic location, overlooking the River Maine. Tourists coming to the castle can view the interiors that are tastefully decorated. Parisian tapestry belonging to ancient ages adorns the castle. The chapel inside the castle is also worth a visit. Despite suffering damages during the World War and later, it has been renovated and is a museum of intricate and priceless tapestry work. • Great place to visit. We were impressed by the state this castle is kept. As Eu-member under 25, the entrance is free, you just have to show a pasport. From this point, the whole city is at your feet....  more »
  • Great Museum! The shop is also nice. The animations are very much alive, Bravo):! We have assisted in an introduction to the medieval dance and were delighted! Only downside! At the time we arrived the elevator in the courtyard of the castle was broken which somewhat complicated things, hope that since the above no longer creates worries... it's better for the stroller and people with reduced mobility. Very beautiful views also):

  • Free guided visits of the chateaux and the tapestry room! It was interesting to learn about the history, development and changes that occurred over time.
  • It's a great place if you're looking for a quiet, clean, and accessible hotel near the town's attractions. Also, the front desk agent spoke English which was highly appreciated.
  • Best castle I've been to! Also échange students get in for free! Can you say lit?
  • Great to spend one afternoon walking around the gardens. The tapestry gallery is great to visit
  • Beautiful and huge. Really brings the history of the place to life.
