Cathedrale St-Maurice, Angers
(4.2/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Cathedrale St-Maurice began as a small church but grew into a full-fledged cathedral with the passage of time. It is exceptional for its nave at 48 m (157.5 ft) long and 22 m (72.2 ft) wide, with a gothic gate and a tower that reaches 60 m (197 ft) into the sky. Walking into the cathedral gives you a sense of the eternity the architecture was meant to represent. • As many churches and cathedrals that there are to see, having Romanesque and Gothic architecture, with its flying buttresses ,in the same building was very interesting to see.
  • Very impressive even in comparison to the better known French cathedrals, but without crowds of tourists! Take you time to enjoy the details of XII decorations and feel the spirit of this place
  • The Cathedral is located in the city centre of Angers. Very beautiful organ and beautiful rosette. If you're in the area, worth the trip.
