Cloitre de la Collegiale Saint Salvy, Albi

(4.3/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
An impressive 900 years old, Cloitre de la Collegiale Saint Salvy combines Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements to form a pleasant patchwork of bricks and stones. In 1270, architect and artist Vidal de Malvezi rebuilt the cloister--the place of his burial. Stone capitals topped by slender columns frame the cloister's garden, where you'll find a cool, peaceful haven. • Between it the cloister is done by the Church and out, there is the choice between 2 exits, we climbed the steps and out the on-site saint salvy with its restaurants or down and result in a pedestrian street. The cloister is a place of rest shaded with lots of varieties

  • Partial access for restoration does not appreciate this part of heritage, nevertheless the visitable part gives an overview and we look forward to admire this cloister as soon as its complete restoration.

  • During our visit, the cloister was not maintained and seemed abandoned for repairs. Too bad, because this space of calm in the heart of the city deserves more attention. Access is free and is done by the bride and groom Street.
