  • Well worth the time. Numerous smaller Rodin sculptures, an interesting collection of impressionists, and a very good exhibit of watercolors. The museum deserves a well spent hour.  more »

  • Excellent collection of Roden
  • This is an excellent museum. I was so surprised to see works by such famous artists in this small town. On reflection I should not have been so surprised, the town of Aix-les-Bains is a work of art itself. The museum is just the right size if you are visiting with young children, they get to see everything and don't have time to get bored. The artworks themselves are very well displayed and illuminated. From the outside the museum looks quite small but on the inside there is a lot packed in without seeming cluttered or resticting the view. The tear drop shaped sculpture in the garden is lovely. You have to go there to appreciate it, pictures of it are no good. Don't go to Paris and the big museums just to see the back of someone's head. Come to Aix-les-Bains and get up close to some paint on canvas that was put there by famous people a while back. If you are in the area and you like wine, go a few Km north to 73310 Ruffieux and try the rosé.

  • Small museum, which contains a lot of Rodin's work in particular. I regret that these copies, size medium or small, are placed on pedestals near the ground, that which does not contemplate them easily in their Outlook. A little limited by space devoted temporary exhibitions.
