  • The small Musée des Tapisseries is decorated in the Palais de l'Archevêché, Archbishop's Palace, close to the Cahtédrale Saint-Sauveur and also the Musée Estienne-de-Saint-Jean (Musée de vieil Aix). Before you walk into the Museum one has to admire the beautiful building, built in 1650-1780. Arch bishops of Aix-en-Provence has kept to here much farther back, but the only thing that remains of the original Mansion is the Gothic Hall on the lower floor. It doesn't take long to see the few spaces in the Musée des Tapisseries. Here is the furniture, paintings and so the fine tapestries, among others a series that is all about Don Quixote and Sancho. I used no more than 20 minutes in this museum; But while the Musée des Tapisseries is a very small museum, then as a tourist in Aix-en-Provence not cheat themselves for the experience by watching the beautiful room of the Palais de l'Archevêché.

  • The tapestry Museum attracts fans of the genre. Easy (or hard!) interested! Yet the premises of the Museum (the former Archbishopric) are worth a visit! A must to do in Aix.
