Cours Mirabeau, Aix-en-Provence
(4.3/5 based on 1,700+ reviews on the web)
A wide, bustling boulevard, Cours Mirabeau stretches 440 m (1,500 ft) long and 42 m (130 ft) wide. It has a number of cafes, some more than 100 years old, which were once visited by Nobel laureate Albert Camus. The street's wide sidewalks are planted with double rows of trees. Cool off at the fountains, the largest of which, La Rotonde, lies at one end of the street. The street divides Aix into two portions, the Quartier Mazarin, or the "new town," which extends to the south and west, and the Ville Comtale, the "old town," which lies to the north. Wander from the boulevard to the old town's wide streets and old French mansions dating from the 16th century. • It is a wide Avenue, full of cafes, restaurants, monuments, where a shopping centre with many shops, typical of the region, with carousel and other various toys. Highlights-a traditional and attractive with sweet confectionery appetizing and generous prices, worth a visit, whose name is similar to Bechard. I visited the city in November and had the happiness of seeing every day, early in the morning and the evening a spectacular flight of hundreds of swallows. The numerous restaurants, almost always crowded feature dishes for all tastes and at affordable prices. Several fairs offer a variety of items, from clothes, cheeses and fruit.

  • Fascinating. One of the most beautiful courses ever seen. With a narrow way for minibuses and two lovely fountains up to go down to la Rotonde. Plenty of room for pedestrians. A course very much alive, with stalls selling local products over the Christmas period. Splendid.

  • Very lively and great atmosphere, more on Saturday there is a very large market. All the shops are open. A lot of musical entertainment. A great choice for all.
