Where to stay in Aix-en-Provence

To explore the old town's shops, markets, and bookstores on foot, stay at one of the city's centrally located hotels. Just a short drive from this busy central area are a selection of luxurious villas, surrounded by formal gardens and private swimming pools. Though rather expensive, these elegant mansions provide a convenient base from which to explore the cultured area surrounding the city. For a cheaper alternative, look for private inns and B&Bs on the edge of town.

  • I had an exceptionally good espresso here on market day. It was served with a high quality dark chocolate. I would definitely recommend this to any fellow coffee snob.
  • If you love coffee this is the place for you! They have several types of coffee beans and a good hot chocolate also. There is only seating outside which isn't great in the winter but that it.
  • Mixed bag. Friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere. And a good place to have a coffee and people watch. But most of their roasted coffees are in open barrels, which is a big No-No. Coffee beans need to be stored in air-tight containers to avoid oxidation. Nevertheless, the coffee I chose, was one in the few closed containers and STILL tasted/smelled a bit bitter and old.
  • Coffee and teas from all over the world, fresh roasted beans, beautiful area, clean, and smells like heaven
  • A fantastic selection of coffees. Everything, including the cold café frappé is excellent. I wish they had more food but I guess coffee is the only focus!
