At Lenin Museum, one of the rare permanent museums dedicated to this Russian politician and revolutionary, you'll see exhibits about his work, his life, and the USSR. The museum focuses on critically formed archives and personal effects, such as school reports and Lenin's couch. Two compact exhibit rooms feature manuscripts and photographs providing a glimpse into Finland and Russia of the 20th century. After a self-guided tour, check out the shop that offers various souvenirs, ranging from postcards to Lenin busts. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Tampere trip simple and quick.

We found it by accident after seeing the sign board outside the building. I am not a big fan of museums so for me the size and scale was just right. Spent about an hour there all told and enjoyed... more »

This museum is the first Lenin museum that was founded outside of the Soviet Union and also simultaneously the last to remain to this day. It is located in the very same building where Lenin and... more »

This is an interesting museum looking into the wartime history of the country. Looks into the relationship of Stalin and Lenin also, a little too much info about Stalin and not Lenin. Takes a couple.... more »

Another must-see place in Tampere. This museum used to be the place to visit by the Soviet tourists but it also serves as document of Finnish history. The museum has renewed the exhibition in 2016 and it offers also facts and critical views of the Finnish-Soviet history. The place is not large so easy also for a quick visit. Includes nice little museum shop.

I was transported to another era. The museum story starts with a short info panel about the museum's roots and continues with Finland's relationship with Russia and Soviet Union. Lots of artefacts from the bygone era are on display showing life from the past century. Special attention is paid to Lenin and his contemporary Stalin as well as other Russian leaders after Stalin until the collapse of the country. Also the museum shop offers some cool stuff, from posters to figurines and even a Lada.

Very interesting stories and artifacts, but also very nice personnel. They even agreed on taking many photos of me by their Lenin statue. I can recommend visiting this museum and finding out for example that Lenin and Stalin met for the first time in Tampere, Finland.

Great and interesting. Not only about Lenin, but also the history of the development of tsar Russia to Communist Soviet to Russia and Finlands complex relationship to their big neighbour.

A must see museum when visiting Tampere and Finland in general. Lots of interesting facts along with a great gift shop and friendly staff.
