  • My husband and I were just passing through and got a lot of fun. Not crowded and very quiet. We were told that every summer Opera Festival is held here.

  • The fortress is located in a very picturesque place, among the water. Stands on the island to which maintains the bridge. I advise you to take a stroll, not only on the fortress, but on opposite shores, there are embankments and from all sides the fortress looks wonderful. I was in the town of autumn: yellow trees and sunny weather-good to go at this time of year. In the castle there is a toilet and a gift shop. Linden, which is located in the courtyard, according to legends planted Suvorov! What else ... I didn't have enough Entourage in the fortress, antique furniture and paintings-anything that would make it more alive. I would like to see, as there have been a few centuries ago. Inside is really hard to navigate. From the courtyard you can climb the walls and walk through some flooring.

  • Alone in the castle should not be terribly out of it, but the price of the ticket in a tour with a guide. Worth a go!

  • Great. Knowledgeable guide was good at all four languages we tried. Everything else was great too.
  • Very old and impressive castle.
  • Very beautiful ancient fortress in a good condition
  • Actually, the walk to the castle through the old residential part of Savonlinna was quite interesting. The castle visit was "typical" - not too much new to see. But it is a "must" if you visit the town.
  • A castle which was used by the Swedes to fend off the Russians long ago is now a tourist attraction.
