  • A rather anonymous museum in the shadow of the Tomtehysterin and the Arktikum. This is the forest in focus. You will learn about the different forest types, running machines, building things and much more, everything goes to touch or do stuff with. Absolutely perfect for the family with a 5.5 year old and an 8 year old. Was there for 3 hours without tiring. Very much worth a visit.

  • Pistäydyin here, that's why, when I was in the immediate vicinity of the Arktikumin. Alone on the road, the head of an adult with a twinkle not offered nothing really, and a quarter longer, I could not bear to be entertained. With the kids or perhaps the guy people would have gotten much more out of it. There is very little, but just to look at things is supposed to receive the award. Very vahvastihan this is for the children/school age aimed at the place. The ensemble was also surprisingly low, especially when compared to the vast Arktikum Center next to the.

  • Have been around forestry most of our lives so we found the offerings a bit juvenile. We believe that younger visitors would find more to experience and enjoy.  more »

  • A lot small exploratory exhibitions - mainly focussed on children and teens. But if you're into these type of museums also fun to play around as an adult
  • We visited this museum in few hours because it were closing. It is very interactive and perfect for children, but unfortunately we were adults and we didn't enjoy it a lot. The theme is the forest and the use of the wood (especially the production of paper). It is a little bit small, but quite interesting.
  • If you have two hours, met Santa, the reindeers and you are seeking for some indoor activities it totally worth it to go inside. The woodchoper simulator, the wooden karaoke and the berry picking games are fun to to try out.
  • It's a good place for kids to play.
  • Very nice place for families with kids

Where to stay in Rovaniemi

For a city just below the Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi offers a surprisingly wide range of accommodations. While most of the major hotels and guesthouses cluster in the city center, you'll find more rustic charm by traversing one of the city bridges and looking for a place to stay in the more residential areas. You'll find that the surroundings change drastically, with lots of trees and greenery interspersed between homes. There are also a few scattered bed and breakfasts, which offer a more authentic experience than you might get in a larger hotel chain.
