Moomin World, Naantali
Categories: Fun & Games
Designed especially for children and fans of the Moomin books, Moomin World features houses, characters, and locations from the saga. The Independent on Sunday featured it on its list of best theme parks for children, and Finnish Travel Fair gave it an award as domestic travel destination of 2005. At this park, you'll see blueberry- and yellow-colored houses. Take one of the fantasy paths and find a fairytale cave, a boat, and a witch's labyrinth. See the place where Moominmama cooks for her family. You can also visit the theater to see special performances. Our Naantali vacation route planner makes visiting Moomin World and other Naantali attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

This is a great place for kids. Our son is now 9 and still greatly enjoyed it. If you have come across the Moomins (either books or cartoon series on TV) then this is very well done. It only runs over... read more »
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. Maybe because I have never been a great fan of Moomins as a child. My daughters did not read books about Moomins either. So we were not so much immersed into the Mo... read more »
Absolutely love this place! So much to do and see! Definitely recommend a visit to this place!
A lovely place! Went there this summer with my child and we walked around the Moominworld. Spent there nearly 5 hrs. Souvenirs to buy, theatre with some of the characters on stage. This year it was about when Moomin built a house. Eating places (food, cafe, ice-creams, candy store etc), postcards/post office, and the characters of course walking around when they dont have any special arrangements. Funny and interesting things to discover when you walk around the Moominworld like Edward the Boobie at sea, to mention one of them. The Finns have succeeded with MoominWorld!
Plenty here for kids, but there are a lot of adults rediscovering their childhood. There's hard sell for sure, with themed food and shops galore, though the post office - with unique Moomin stamps and postmarks - is a must. Some bits are better than others. The 'adventure trail' could use more investment to bring the Groke and Hattifatteners to life, and the maze is a bit tatty. But the Moominhouse is magnificent, as is Moominpappas ship (The Oshun Oxtra? The Adventure?) The high point for me was the bathing house, which is exactly as it appears in the book. At that point you truly feel you're in Moominvalley. It's not a conventional theme park - there are no rides and thrill-seeking kids may be bored. But the characters are all present and correct and 100% in character - don't be surprised to see Stinky being dragged off to jail or Moomin sulking when Snorkmaiden flirts for photos. And afterwards you have Naantali to explore - a lovely little town with old wooden buildings, and a great selection of food and drink. If you're a Moomin fan, this is a trip you'll never forget.

Very cozy and relaxing place to be if you are out early. Tends to get crowded during the day and especially the little children might get scared of the amount of activity around. The park is really a delight for children that have watched the cartoons and the feeling of amazement from our little girl was truly a sight.
Very nice place before and after season ;)
