Specialty Museum Museum
As part of Aland Maritime Museum, Museumship Pommern presents artifacts aboard a four-masted sailing ship anchored in the harbor. Rumored to be the world's only remaining four-masted ship in its original condition, the so-called lucky vessel survived both world wars intact and lost only four crew members in its entire history. Today this ship (built in 1903) is considered the symbol of the town. Board the 95 m (312 ft) long vessel to see the complex masts and tour its interior spaces, from hold to charthouse. Examine the exotic collection of artifacts collected during its voyages. Piranhas and shark jaws adorn the shelves, and one display presents a rare pirate flag. Note that your ticket is valid for either an additional visit to this attraction or a visit to the maritime museum. • It's an easy bike ride or walk from the town center. The ship is beautiful but apparently undergoing some renovations on the deck so we were told the museum wouldn't be open in 2017. It's still worth ...  more »
  • Visiting the Pommern was really very interesting, we only had 3 hours and I could've easily spent more time there. The history of the ship is told well and you can start to imagine what it must've bee...  more »
  • that's really must visit place, when you are in Mariehamn! Pommern is a big, historical ship, where you can walk everywhere. You can see all the ship rooms and decks. Highly recommend to visit!  more »

  • Great lobby area with cozy chairs, bar, and restaurant - like a living room. Good breakfast. Video games and table tennis room. Only minus is the small bathroom without shower curtains where the whole floor inevitably gets wet.
  • Very clean and comfortable, although it seemed a bit cold. Very good and varied breakfast.
  • Good breakfast.
  • 👍
  • Very (!) good food in the hotel restaurant. However, messing around with a non-functioning thermostat and a trainee at the reception who stubbornly several times would speak Finnish with us. I.e. us Finland-Swedes in a hotel in Åland ...
