The largest Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe, Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali) stands as a symbol of Russian influence in Finland's history. Designed by architect Aleksey Gornostayev during Russian rule of the region in the 19th century, this Eastern Orthodox church was completed in 1868. Visit the popular Helsinki landmark, note its traditional Russian design, and then enjoy the view of the city from this scenic hilltop. • It is a beautiful church at the end of the main street of Helsinki and near the Helsinki market. This on top of a lift. The interior is beautifully decorated with prints typical and Orthodox religious images. The entrance is free. I recommend the visit in my opinion is one of the essentials in Helsinki.

  • With the autumn glow and Sun on the Christmas was already a pleasing to the eye to be able to see on the outside with a beautiful view of the city. From the inside it was also wonderful. Definitely worth to see.

  • Beautiful cathedral that is free to go inside. The exterior is quite beautiful and also has limited views of the Senate square cathedral dome. The inside area which is open to public is small but worth a visit
  • Wonderful Orthodox cathedral, the entrance is free and inside is really nice with saints in every corner as it is in all the orthodox churches.
  • Very beautiful inside compared to the outside appearance. Worth the climb. It's a bit small thougH, so 15 min inside are enough.
  • Great architecture of an iconic Church built on the highest place around on a wonderful volcanic black rock
  • Very impressive building, amazing architecture. Worth a visit for sure!
