  • Fountain of bronze of Vallgren erected near Esplanade market represents a young woman out of the sea symbolizing the birth of the Finnish capital.

  • It is an interesting statue close to the waterfront and Esplandi, the market area. It is a bronze depicting a mermaid emerging from the water with four fish at her feet. It was established in 1908 and...  more »
  • This work of art is located in the basics of the Park and is close to many important places in Helsinki. There will meet Finland's wish to celebrate the "Mantaa" on the eve of the Walpurin, there's a swim-Finnish weather piittamatta (a bushel near would also have heated pools). As a model is said to have been the favorite beauty and when completed, the statue was held to be the assignment too brave. It is, however, a symbol of the great Finnish sea and nature, as well as a symbol of women's beauty. Its beauty has taken time.

  • Probably the most visited spot in the city due to the great location next to the sea. Close to major tourist attractions and busy shopping streets, there are excellent coffee shops nearby and the Esplanade Park leading to the heart of Helsinki and Mannerheim street.
  • Easy place to meet people as most tourists know where it is. Nice cultural venue to start a walk around Helsinki.
  • Great square next to the old port, at summer time it has a great selection of Street food and amazing sunset view
  • Used to be considered a shame at the very beginning of its erection, now this statue had for long turned into a place of beauty and homage. People gather here during the Vappu-day eve to kick off the alcohol-immersed celebration.
  • Nice square to have a look while waiting for your ferry to the small islands in front of Helsinki
