Arboretum Mustila is an arboretum near Elimäki in southern Finland.

The arboretum was founded in 1902 and is today maintained by a trust. At its inception it was intended as a testing ground for foreign species of conifers. Today it contains slightly less than 100 species of conifers and over 200 species of broad-leaved tree, in addition to other plants. Several of the trees are arranged in larger constellations rather than as individual specimen. Arboretum Mustila's collection of rhododendrons and azaleas is furthermore notable. The many species of trees occasionally attract locally rare birds, e.g. spotted nutcracker and two-barred crossbill. The arboretum is open to visitors for a fee and contains several walkways.

  • At the beginning of June seems to be good time to visit, because rhododendrons and azaleas are flourishing. Arboretum is older than 100years and the oldest trees are such a big.

  • Returning second time. Weather was BAD. Still the best time to come when Azaleas and Rhododendron flower. Very nice arboretum.
  • There is no nicer future gift to the next generations than someone planting a tree ... and this is exactly what the Mustila Arboretum is about as we are enjoying many such trees today that were planted slightly over a century ago. One of the key features are the rhododendrons and the azaleas ... plan your visit between the 20th of May and the 20th June for the perfect flowering time. Another key feature are the acer ... aim for the "ruska" time in early fall. This is a perfect outing on a nice day!!!
  • So many kinds of trees quite unexpected in this area. Picturesque routes, well organized. Keep a date in May to enjoy rhododendrons and in September to enjoy autumn colors!
  • Definitely worth seeing. They provide hiking grounds surrounded by exotic plants with name tags. Sometimes mosquitos could bother you in the forest. They also sell plants and small trees to plant in your garden.
  • Beautiful azaleas and rhododendron blooming. Peaceful paths. Coffee and buns at the little cafe. Gorgeous trees.
