Tavuni Hill Fort, Sigatoka
Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Visit the semi-restored ancient Fijian fort of Tavuni Hill Fort, a National Archeological Site near Naroro Village, where the guardians of this former fortress live. Learn about the area's pre-colonial Fijian life and admire the beautiful views from two lookout points. Hire a guide to teach you about the country's history of tribal warfare and even cannibalism. If you forgo a guide, however, there are still some plaques throughout the complex with English explanations. Make Tavuni Hill Fort a centerpiece of your Sigatoka vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Sigatoka itinerary builder.
