  • Mykines is one of the absolute highlights of the Faroe Islands was for us. Ferry (be sure post, goes Internet the easiest) in 45 minutes or helicopter (was already fully booked with us). The place is cute, but manageable, and also not the destination (almost) all visitors. This is the way to the lighthouse, which passes directly to the breeding grounds of hundreds of puffins. The animals are very good to watch and photograph if you stay on the road. And most of all visitors stayed also because - in that we had the impression, that the birds over fee have been disrupted. From the lighthouse the western end of Mykines - has a great look on a large rock with a colony of Northern Gannet man then a very beautiful view over an ideal place for a picnic included. Back and forth takes 4 hours with photo stops and picnic loosely. Then you can while away the wait until the Fährrückfahrt well in the cosy café of the island.

  • The Lighthouse is the end point of the footpath at Michinese, the place itself seems to be a picture of a glossy magazine, very beautiful. In the face of strong winds or rain reached here is not easy-road rather difficult with large height difference. Virtually the entire route found a colony of gulls, Petrels and puffins. The route must pass mandatory, it's worth it

  • For those who love the cliffs puffins and dear this tour is not to be missed! Just a 40-minute ferry ride that alone are worth the trip and it was circondasti by a beautiful nature and plenty of punch. To be booked in advance during the high season.

  • The walk to the lighthouse is quite beautiful. Along the path there are lots and lots of puffins that you can get pretty close to (2m perhaps) before they fly away. From the village it took us about one and a half hours to get there, and just one hour to return (since we weren't stopping to take snaps of the adorable puffins). Right by the lighthouse there is a spot of land which provides a panoramic view of the sea. However, I would say it is the walk to the lighthouse rather than the lighthouse itself that makes the trip to Mykines very special and worthwhile.
  • Ferry to the island was without problem. Puffins everywhere and other birds causing an amazing experience! At the end ,the ocean was wild not allowing the ferry into the harbour, then making a second attempt in about 5 hours later because visitors had flights the following day. 5 hours went by comfortably in a coffee shop with kind people staying past their work hours. The tour guide helped plan and called ferry companies to have visitors prepared. Earlier than expected a professional captain quickly boarded and steadily controlled us safely through a rocky and wild harbour. Overall, the tour guide was very helpful and tried to solve all inconveniences and it was a great experience! The tour guide was from Heimdal Tours.
  • Fantastic island with great views and a lot of birds and puffins on the way to the lighthouse. Nice place to relax after the two hour hike from the little village. Beware of the bird excrements raining from the sky. ;-)
  • Fantastic place on the amazing Mykines island. Great place for spotting birds especially puffins while you hike from the village (port) towards the lighthouse. The boat trip can be an adventure as the waves are often high but it is definitely worth the effort
  • It gets pretty windy here but the views are worth the journey. I landed my hot air balloon near by and the locals where very helpful to help me tie down. I gladly gave them free chilli dogs with oyster sauce and powdered mayonnaise in milk sauce to say thank you.
