Church Tourist Spot
Located near the center of Stanley, St. Mary s Catholic Church remains the only Catholic place of worship on the Falkland Islands. Built in 1899, the structure represents a classic example of Victorian kit building. The modest walls enclose a wooden interior where light pierces stained glass to create a peaceful atmosphere. Take a look at the west wall, featuring a "pictorial history" of the Church in this part of the world. You can also climb to the second floor for a view of the altar and pews below. With our international travel planner, Stanley attractions like St. Mary s Catholic Church can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • typical british church, beautiful inside and at the heart of the community!
  • Beautiful church
  • The Church of Santa Maria, located in the waterfront Ross, Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, is the procatedral and only parish of the apostolic prefecture of the Falkland Islands, a territorial jurisdiction isolated directly dependent on the Holy Catholic Church.

  • I visited the church on August first. I liked it. Beautiful church I forgot the backpack with a 10.1-inch samsung tablet and a few things under the last seat on the right. I've already report for the police, can I get it back? I forgot my backpack in the month of December 2016. During the month of March 2017 the bag with all the objects that had inside came into my possession. Including half a bottle of water and also the samsung tablet. Thanks Malvinas people. José Bento
