  • The Museum surpassed all our expectations. The exposition is located on the 3-5 floors. In the building upstairs you can climb (or descend) the oldest elevator of Tartu (1928). Scientific instruments of the middle ages, a huge library, rectors of the University making a definite contribution to its development and prosperity. The Cabinet of the mad scientist, in which everything can be touched .... By the way, here is a lot of items that were in most homes of the USSR. One of the halls tells about university education reigning royalty and famous people. And still the visitors meets a huge pendulum, which demonstrates the rotation of our planet ... However, it is better to see once, than 100 times reread reviews ... Will be in Tartu-visit the Museum!

  • A very interesting museum dedicated to the history of education and science of the University of Tartu is located in the former altar of the Duomo, which is located on the Hill of Toomemagi in the historical part of the city. Majestic red brick construction is half-destroyed, the museum itself is located in a renovated part of it. The Cathedral itself during the 13th-16th centuries and was the largest in Estonia. During the Livonian war was destroyed and rebuilt except for the altar. Amazing course-how such a massive structure withstood so many ages, even open-air vaults it virtually intact. The two towers of the former Cathedral there is a staircase leading to the review site that truth is not always open. Around is a picturesque Park with many monuments.
