Tartu University Botanical Garden, Tartu
(4.5/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Stroll through and soak up the beauties of nature at Tartu University Botanical Garden. The landscaped grounds and greenhouses were designed to recreate the natural habitats of various plants, so you can see species native to the frosty Siberian taiga not far from those you'd encounter in the tropical jungles of South America. Take a walk down the series of pathways surrounded by greenery, pause to rest on a bench, or admire the sculptures that dot the grounds. Kids can have fun at the playground and feed fish in the pond. Admission is only required for the greenhouses; visiting the outdoor areas of the garden is free. A visit to Tartu University Botanical Garden represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Tartu itinerary maker to plot your vacation.

  • I'm not a big fan of the vegetable world, and even in his childhood, collecting stamps, never collected the flora. For this reason, walked in the garden without much enthusiasm. In vain. Grounds clearly worth a visit. Places very beautiful and tastefully done. And if the visitor, unlike me, and versed in plants, in addition to the aesthetic pleasure he can still feel the joy of learning.

  • This was the first place we went and it was very very nice. Many different kinds of plants from around the world - fabulous orchids in the greenhouses. Even in this transition from summer to fall the ...  more »
  • It cost about €3.50 to look around the green house (which is worth it) but the outside section, with several areas, was all free. Good fun for an hour or two.
