  • Preparing to travel in Tartu, drew attention to the Church, it is far from "a bouquet of sights of the old town", the more interesting was her visit. By the way, this is the place, as stated in the Guide, which hosted the first song festival in Tartu, at the highest point. The gates to the Church were closed, but we are Russians, so povertev strange key lock engaged. Continuing to doubt the successful completion of the event went to church doors. ... they were open, so remained admired and grandeur of the Interior of the building. Austerity, simplicity and at the same time, the solemnity of the internal appearance distinguishes ... Probably when there is service and sound body, the person experiences here strong jezhmocii!

  • Atypical for Estonia by the appearance of the Church. Absolutely not surprised seeing such would, for example, in Riga.

  • High a large temple with a high Spire meets at the entrance to Tartu by Narva. Built the superb Church, work finally completed in 1903. Project red brick temple in pseudo-Gothic style engaged architects and builders Viktor Johann Gottlieb Schröter and Gustav Beermann. The Church Hall for 3000 people. Beautiful and majestic altar painting "Calling Christ" ("Kutsuv Kristus") works by the artist Johann Köleri (1897). In Peetri kirik set 22-register authority of the 19th century. The temple's façade, roof and Bell Tower were recently renovated, there is internal cosmetic repairs. During the work of the Church, you can climb the 140 steps to the Tower, though for a nominal fee, offering panoramic views of the city.
