  • Several exhibitions in the Museum. One of them is dedicated to reflection in the art of the human body. Collected paintings of different artists from different eras. There are interesting works. The other is simply modern art: patologichno, destructive, tragically. The House hardly is oblique and immediately stands out in an ensemble of friendly area.

  • Building the skewness is not physically felt within, but exhibitions do not Yes responded to our expectations. Also, they don't represent vinoutta Skitsofreenikon appalling boards in art.

  • We wanted to see the art of Estonians and at that time, there was a schizophrenic art Fiumicino. It's not that we wanted to devalorisercet art, but the works here are not good: we see humans get eaten, uninhibited sex and cruelty portrayed. I hurt inside and we got out. We thought find Estonian artists as Tartu is famous for art. But all the rooms were full of this decadent exhibition. Art, Yes... it's art that denigrates and distorts should he be honored as well. If art is not, I do not see it... disappointed here really... and staff agreed at all our remarks on this subject. I don't see why I shouldn't a canvas where a human being gets eaten with a lot of blood everywhere, or a penis who wants out of the canvas with aggressive... not for us, thank you!

  • Loved it here! Had really cool exhibitions.
  • Tartu Art Museum was founded in 1940, and resides in its current, tilted house on Raekoja plats since 1988. (Btw: don't believe the plaque saying the house is called after Michael Andreas Barclay de Tolly, one of the Russian generals in the war against Napoleon in 1812: it was bought by his widow. Not every historical-looking plaque is trustworthy.) The museum has an extensive collection of Estonian and Baltic German art, largely (yet not only) by artists connected to Tartu, and arranges exhibitions both on the basis of its collection as well as concerning other themes, historical and contemporary, ranging from private collections and collectors to the painful questions of cultural memory to the problems of designing and discusing the public space. Whenever you have time in Tartu, it is definitely a museum worth visiting.
  • Estonian only oblique House. It is already a kind of attraction, in addition to the inside of the House is also interesting art exhibitions.

Where to stay in Tartu

As a university town, Tartu can get rowdy in the evenings. To ensure a quiet night's stay, look for more economical lodging outside of the center. That said, if you want to be in the thick of the nightlife, the center itself has quite a few budget accommodations catering to the youthful population. Unfortunately, this also means that those looking for luxury hotels in this area may be more hard-pressed. The most populous neighborhood in the city is Annelinn, bordering the Emajogi River, where you will find a variety of accommodations. Alternatively, Kesklinn, a smaller quarter, has plenty of mid-range hotels and budget guesthouses.
