Town Council's Aphothecary, Tallinn

(3.9/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Take a step back in medical history at Town Council's Aphothecary, the oldest medical enterprise in Tallinn, and one of the oldest in all of Europe. The pharmacy was founded in the early 15th century and has run continuously in the same building ever since. Explore the on-site museum, which displays a small collection of historic medical tools and others used by physicians in the past. You'll find many relics from the business over the years, including an array of medieval and Renaissance-era remedies. For a souvenir, pick up some claret, a spiced Germanic wine, from the pharmacy's gift shop. • Unexpected and pleasant surprise was this pharmacy, the most ancient in the world, on my visit to Tallinn. It exhibits objects of Pharmacy times, a video and the possibility to buy aspirin, all in the same place!

  • In Europe's oldest pharmacy. Still have a hand cream because it also sells souvenirs may choose depending on the person. Old tools I think courage is also exhibited a little bit, but it needs more. I think it might be avoided because it's something I personally only tour. But I think probably Pharmacy staff are recognized as a tourist attraction.

  • A free guide tour in Tallinn told the Director that this pharmacy is the oldest in the world and worth a visit... Well..., a short visit is worth it, especially for all those who are interested in pharmacy. Was quite nice and at least I can claim to have been there ;-)
