  • This monument is dedicated to my mind one of the most terrible event in the history of sailing, when a huge and seemingly safe ferry sank in just a few minutes. If you have somewhere to follow these views of maritime transport, you can easily imagine all this mnogopalubnuju beast. As a result, 800 + people drowned and not falling back to Stockholm. I am sure that many people experience unpleasant feelings, embarking on the ferry polubu anywhere in the world. The monument is located in the Park, near Tower thick Margarita. " Seen it all already in the evening in the dark, but still was an occasion to remember about this catastrophe and wonder that so much time has passed (since 1994). Recommend, concisely and symbolic. Like there are on the same theme and monument in Stockholm, but I hadn't seen it.

  • Very accurate and concise Memorial of innocent victims. And he's not quite strange, especially for residents of St. Petersburg, we have his severed ring, blokadnoe. And then there's the complex repeats its forms incident event: ferry carries nothing knowledgeable people from their native shores and main sea gate and capital together with people disappears in the marine abyss. That is why part of the monument so spaced out on the heights: the beginning on a mountain "Margaritas" and the final rasplastan at the bottom, as on the seabed. In the summer, due to the green trees, all together part of the monument a few difficult to consider a single set. Especially the upper part of it. And standing near the same devotional cross is not associated with the long boom hanging over the precipice of the Hill of the fortress the bastion. But those who comes to the lower slabs with names of the dead, already quite differently react to everything else. Among other things, in Stockholm, too, there is a Memorial. It is located between the North and the Museum ship Vasa Museum, near the cemetery in the small ancient Church. Generally, in those very difficult times and breaks between the neighbouring countries on the once uniform space, news of the tragedy to a ferry and its passengers, caused a real shock. People in Russia suddenly forgot that their shared and accused of all sins of the world, and that this tragedy is already someone else's problem now, people. Then not even thought about it. Too great was shock and sympathy.
