Government Building
Gothic architectural style defines Tallinn Town Hall, a 15th-century building with a 64 m (210 ft) tall tower crowned by "Old Thomas," a weather vane that has come to serve as a symbol of Tallinn. Explore the network of rooms within, complete with decorative pillars, arched ceilings, and fireplaces, and take in the setting that saw many of the city council's most important decisions. You can climb the 115 steps up to the tower's belfry, from where you'll get a sweeping view of the square below and the city's many spires. Keep in mind that public access to the building varies by season, so be sure to check the website to ensure it's open. Plan your visit to Tallinn Town Hall and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Tallinn trip builder.

  • The place is very beautiful. Were there in winter, very nicely decorated with different size lights. All advises. Inside there is an old restaurant III Draakon. Around a lot of different cafes, you can sit, relax from a walk through the old town.

  • A very beautiful medieval place! Exquisite architecture, very romantic. Together with narrow streets and medieval area of amazing beauty! The feeling that time has stopped here.

  • the view is beautiful, but the site is tight and requires willingness to climb the stairs. The steps are uneven and very tall. But sailing!

  • Nice ancient building in the middle of the old town. During weekends there is a nice souvenir market in the square just next to it. Maybe not worth paying for going in the tower. Go to St Olaf church instead.
  • Beautiful and historical place to go.Must visit. In Old town
  • Beautiful town hall building with a town square all around it. Lots of patios around the square however they are a tourist trap and over price. You are better to walk a block away from the square.
  • A great square to have a look and take some pictures. The restaurants I do recommend to find on nearby streets.
  • Interesting building the view from the top is good.
