Tallinn Town Hall, Tallinn

4.5
Gothic architectural style defines Tallinn Town Hall, a 15th-century building with a 64 m (210 ft) tall tower crowned by "Old Thomas," a weather vane that has come to serve as a symbol of Tallinn. Explore the network of rooms within, complete with decorative pillars, arched ceilings, and fireplaces, and take in the setting that saw many of the city council's most important decisions. You can climb the 115 steps up to the tower's belfry, from where you'll get a sweeping view of the square below and the city's many spires. Keep in mind that public access to the building varies by season, so be sure to check the website to ensure it's open. • For 5 euros (because it is not a part of TallinnCard in winters), you can get to see the basement and walk upto the top of the tower. You have to take an appointment, but the guide makes it worth it.  more »
  • Very similar to a miniature copy of the Doge's Palace in Venice. A good, likable. There are colorful restaurant in the ancient style. Highly recommend visiting for a snack.

  • This place is historic, with paintings of how the Estonians in the early years relied on the wisdom theories of the Bible to guide their justice system. It's amazing how this monument of more than a decade old has been preserved to almost it's original state. We were treated to some beautiful traditional vintage music. I liked the instruments and the joyfulness of the performance
  • I went inside the town hall museum and it was a great way to learn a little bit about Tallinn’s history. The exhibition was quite short but also very inexpensive, so it was worth the ticket price. Note that entrance to the tower is a separate ticket.
  • pretty okay. there is a good cafe that sells pie and soup. town hall tower which is worth to visit
  • Medieval, gothic structure dominates old town. Has soldier shaped weather vane spire. 1944 bomb hit weather vane. Replaced . There are steps up to the tower for a great view.
  • ℹ️ Last surviving gothic town hall in Northern Europe. Built in the 13th century. Located next to the town square, which is full of different restaurants. Very touristic place, but full of history. Worth the visit.;)
