Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, Tallinn

(4.2/5 based on 170 reviews on the web)
The site of a key series of events in Estonia's history, Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is today one of the country's premier music venues. Visit the grounds, which host an annual namesake festival that includes almost 25,000 singers. Learn about the role that the festival played in national independence, when thousands of Estonians gathered here beginning in 1988 to sing patriotic songs protesting Soviet rule. You can climb to the top of the 42 m (138 ft) tall lighthouse next to the main stage and arch, where you'll be rewarded with views of the grounds, the city, and the nearby Gulf of Finland. Be sure to check the grounds' event schedule for information about frequent concerts, rallies, and activities. • One of the most famous place in Estonia. Must visit, if you want to know more about Estonian history. If not, then it's little bit boring.
  • One of the most important historic places for anyone who identifies him/herself as an Estonian.
  • Best place in Tallinn for open air concerts. Due to its shape many people can attend comfortably.
  • Great historical value
  • Outside festival seasons also a nice quiet place for romantic walking and gathering of ideas.
