Rocca al Mare Hotell, Tallinn
(4.1/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Immerse yourself in the past at Rocca al Mare Hotell, a life-size showcase of centuries of Estonian village life, architecture, and culture. Home to 74 buildings dating as far back as 1699, the village offers the chance to see the structures in a traditional rural setting. Visit the museum and explore the 79 hectares (195 acres) of forested coastal landscape divided into different themed zones, each dedicated to showcasing one of the country's prominent regions and its architectural styles. You'll notice how large a role fishing and farming played in country life, as evidenced by the presence of mills and fish storehouses. Try your hand at cooking, embroidery, or a number of other handicrafts while you're at the museum; those with little ones will find plenty of kid-friendly activities and demonstrations as well. Afterward, kick back with some traditional Estonian cooking at the village tavern. • If you don't fancy the ethnographic museums I agree with the previous review that talks about a waste of time but if you like to rediscover the traditions then it is a museum that you must not miss. The wooden houses scattered in the countryside are not rebuilt but "originals" and transferred here from all over Latvia and I seriously doubt at home know Russian tea as usual (unless you're Russians.) You can admire the Interior details and discover customs, traditions and much more by staff in most buildings, with great availability, will provide you with useful details (of course if you don't speak English or German maybe is a bit tricky). A very interesting Museum to visit in peace. I recommend also a stop at Kolu Inn, a medieval tavern where you can enjoy a great meal or enjoy cider and beer at cheap prices.

  • The breakfast could be a lot better.
  • Breakfast: very little selection, cheap products. Lucca would be on pre-booking on dish for guests, than poor buffet for both 4 stars! Staff comment concerns only the guys at the reception. They either take one of our training services can either search 2-Yu work at which they will not be your. No interest, initiative. Sitting in the headphones for a work place, everything is clear, but not when the next pass are suitable for guests or for help. Even in the hostel when the rack is suitable, the client, the administrator must stand up, otherwise it's at least a bad tone! In General, I wonder how these guys got there to work! I worked in a hotel in the same post and such napljuvatel'skoe the otnshenie strikes. Asked for non smoking room, bathroom terrible stank of cigarettes throughout the 4 days! It turned out that there is a depressing hole which was prjatan goby, Maid nezametila. I hope the previous guests of its fine received (if the goby has not yet pulled out, he was in the bathroom 201 rooms).

  • -Clean room, beautiful view from the window-yummy breakfast (especially worth noting is a good quality coffee, salted salmon, delicious pastries)-presence of pedestrian and bicycle paths in 20 steps away, which stretches along the coast-responsive staff cost/quality Ratio 100%
