Oleviste Church, Tallinn
(4.5/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Standing imposingly over Tallinn's old town, Oleviste Church represents both the cultural epicenter of the city's Scandinavian population and the tallest medieval structure in the area. Solidly built during the 12th century and modified several times since, the church dwarfs many of the buildings around it with its 124 m (407 ft) tall tower and spire. Enter the structure and you'll find that although it lacks much of the ornate artwork found in Catholic and Orthodox churches, it still possesses vaulted ceilings, a large organ, and a decorative altar. You can make your way to the tower's observation deck, where you'll be rewarded with a sweeping view of both sections of the city, modern Tallinn's skyscrapers, and the Gulf of Finland. Check the church's website for information on worship and service times; it has an active congregation. • I thought it would be more interesting. Dome very high but almost without interior or exterior.

  • The nice part of this church is the walk/climb Fink to the top of the Bell Tower. Challenging because the steps are narrow and goes Double Entendre though from atop a 360deg view of the city. If you suffer from Vertigo forget because there is a lot of air and how firmly the sensation of falling is there! The cost of the ticket to climb is of 2 €

  • Were in September 2016 g. Until the spouse with sister rested inside the Cathedral, I for 2 euros went upstairs. For me, the rise of labor is not made up, but for someone can be difficult. It should be noted that the passage is not very wide, and it and go up and down. Roughly in the middle of recovery have folding chairs for relaxing. View from the top is simply breathtaking. And the port and the old and new city, all at a glance. Highly recommend. You will not regret.
