Long Boot (Pikk Jalg), Tallinn

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 80 reviews on the web
Have a walk along the narrow cobblestone road of Long Boot (Pikk Jalg), the oldest street in the city. Situated among tall ramparts of former forts, medieval warehouses, and churches, this steep street features small cafes, souvenir shops, and artists lining the fortress walls selling their wares. The street eventually leads you to a 14th-century gate, once an entrance to the lower town. Grab a coffee and purchase paintings from some of the artists, or admire the old fortification and snap photos of the heavy iron gates and spired rooftops. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking this uneven road. Arrange to visit Long Boot (Pikk Jalg) and other attractions in Tallinn using our Tallinn trip itinerary builder.

  • It is a street connecting the old town and toompea Hill. There are two streets go to toompea, is pick-Yal-Ku is a gentle slope is as the name implies a bit long, so easy to climb. As originally used, noble, there is atmosphere.

  • You'll probably walk down here having been to a view point or the area around the embassies, it's more a thoroughfare than a standalone activity!
  • This street forms the connection between the lower town and the upper town (Toompea). You walk between the two city walls by on a relative style path up (or down). Various artists try to sell their wares here, but are fortunately not too intrusive. Alternatives to top relaxation include a path with stairs or one of the roads partly outside the old town.
