Long Boot (Pikk Jalg), Tallinn
(4.3/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web)
Have a walk along the narrow cobblestone road of Long Boot (Pikk Jalg), the oldest street in the city. Situated among tall ramparts of former forts, medieval warehouses, and churches, this steep street features small cafes, souvenir shops, and artists lining the fortress walls selling their wares. The street eventually leads you to a 14th-century gate, once an entrance to the lower town. Grab a coffee and purchase paintings from some of the artists, or admire the old fortification and snap photos of the heavy iron gates and spired rooftops. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking this uneven road. Arrange to visit Long Boot (Pikk Jalg) and other attractions in Tallinn using our Tallinn trip itinerary builder.

  • Street which connects you to the Hill troompea and the central area of the old town, is a passage between walls, where several local artists sell their paintings, a cobblestone Street, as data was the first street in the city, so it has much story to tell.

  • This street is a little steep but has the medieval vibe as it is all cobblestone. It is located near the Old Walls of Tallinn. There are lots of street vendors and local artists selling there goods. W...  more »
  • It is a narrow, cobblestone Street that you walk uphill to get to the Toompea Hill. On the left side (here has handrails) a few houses and then there is a high wall that does not allow you to see nothing more; the wall is located on the right side, but you have view towards the bed and settled on the Hill. What I like of this tour is that the absence of trades and the conditions of the environment, and it is that you enter the same crossing a gate that looks like crossing a tunnel by the width of the wall, everything that allow you to enjoy this medieval past you palpas at every step and is what many are looking for when visiting Tallinn. Arriving at the Hill you have to view the beautiful Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky. My recommendations: they would visit it in the morning as the artists exhibit their paintings and making this most picturesque site and I think a tiredness activity for people of third age without custom make physical activity enjoy Long Boot (Pikk Jalg). LIFE... it's a TRIP!
