Long Boot (Pikk Jalg), Tallinn

(85+ reviews on the web)
Landmark
Have a walk along the narrow cobblestone road of Long Boot (Pikk Jalg), the oldest street in the city. Situated among tall ramparts of former forts, medieval warehouses, and churches, this steep street features small cafes, souvenir shops, and artists lining the fortress walls selling their wares. The street eventually leads you to a 14th-century gate, once an entrance to the lower town. Grab a coffee and purchase paintings from some of the artists, or admire the old fortification and snap photos of the heavy iron gates and spired rooftops. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking this uneven road. Arrange to visit Long Boot (Pikk Jalg) and other attractions in Tallinn using our Tallinn trip itinerary builder.

  • A good way to get up to toompea (upper town), if its not raining artists hang there paintings for display/sale. This way is far better than the stairs of Patkuli especially going up. The story goes: B...  more »
  • Keep it short and already mrachnovata Pikk Street, especially at night. Ancient masonry retaining wall Hill plunges into the middle ages.
