Great Guild Hall, Tallinn
(4.2/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Marvel at the medieval architecture and explore one of Tallinn's important historic sites at Great Guild Hall. A prime example of Gothic style, the building dates back to the early 15th century--it served as the center of the city's guild of merchants and artisans. Today, the hall is fully restored and houses the Estonian History Museum. The permanent exhibit showcases the city's and country's history as well as the cultural heritage of the Estonian people. You can stroll through the chambers once frequented by Tallinn's wealthy traders, see historical artifacts, take part in many interactive educational activities, or shop for souvenirs. The admission fee includes an audio guide, and you can make a reservation ahead of time if you want a guided tour. Before you head to Tallinn, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Tallinn vacation builder, to make sure you see all that Tallinn has to offer, including Great Guild Hall.

  • I express gratitude to Guide Marina Dunaevoj, who opened for me a great Guild Hall. It was incredibly interesting trip through the building and the Museum, which contains many unique objects, historical details and secrets, and most importantly, that Marina was the atmosphere of the middle ages, which is felt at every step in the building of the great Guild Hall. I never thought about the Museum can tell with such tenderness. Regards, Ella
