Church of the Holy Spirit Puhavaimu Kirik, Tallinn

4.3
Displaying a blend of architectural styles, Church of the Holy Spirit Puhavaimu Kirik houses a famous 17th-century clock, which is one of the most popular historical sites in the city. The angular, gabled facade, and unusual octagonal tower, showcase some of the church's numerous modifications since its construction in the 1200s. As you wander the aisles and naves, admire the wealth of religious artwork, including 15th-century painted panels, depictions of Biblical scenes, and a memorial to British soldiers who fought in the Baltic during World War I. Keep an eye out for the diverse building techniques, such as the Gothic-style windows and vaulted ceilings. Don't forget to visit the iconic clock, which is ornately carved and decorated. • Begin review of unusually-we in the Church that this St and have not been (sadly inform). About this church told guide individual excursions, we looked at it from the outside, saw the clock and decided to stop by on the way back after the tour. But in Tallinn as many temptations that zakrutivshis, we just forgot about it! And very very sorry, because of particular interest are stained glass Windows, made by modern Tallinn world-famous Wizard. Her name is Dolores, her 80 years and it still works. During the excursion "Revel-Gorod masterov" we visited the stained glass workshop where they were manufactured. Well, you'll have to go back!

  • The most mysterious and unusual Church of Tallinn, on Pikk Street photos, behind the Town Hall. On holidays, especially before Christmas, here are carried out very beautiful service. Church of the Holy Spirit, with its astronomical chasmi on the façade, in my opinion, is a must visit.

  • Located in the heart of the old town. One of the most ancient in Tallinn. Despite the fact that was, as they say, has preserved its original medieval appearance. It is worth mentioning that the area inside is very large, outside, it's not obvious. Entrance fee that is not happy.

  • The exterior clock is probably the most photographed tourist attraction of Tallinn. The medieval Lutheran church interior isn't too spectacular at all, but still worth a look. Abundant use of wood makes it a welcoming place. 1€.
  • Historical and pictoral church, must see.
  • Very nice clock on the wall!
  • I mistook this for the town hall!
  • Worth the visit!
