Angla Tuulikumägi, Saaremaa

(3.9/5 based on 85 reviews on the web)
Observe traditional craftmaking and learn about old-world flour production at Angla Tuulikumägi, a complex of preserved windmills. The village presents simple life at the dawn of the 20th century, including living history demonstrations of everyday chores. Throughout the property you'll see farmyards with animals, old tractors, and carriages scattered about. There are five wooden mills here; the largest one features a traditional Dutch-styled windmill. Hear stories from guides dressed in period clothing and visit a home with a typical countryside setting. Grab a coffee and browse through the souvenirs at the shop, which include antique handmade dolls. • We missed most of the demonstration inside due to taking so many pictures of the windmills and other things outside. Never get tired of taking photos of windmills!!
  • With colleagues at work, were returning from the industrial part of the island, here stopped and could join the Estonian folklore. All mills are healthy and perhaps sometimes demonstrate how to grind grain. Next kret'janskaja appliances and utensils, and the Museum will acquaint more detail about life and the comfort of the farmers. The same master classes are held on the baking village bread and the manufacture of pottery.

  • It used to be very nice place, You could see them up close and go inside. But now you can only see them from far and if you want to see them up close you have to pay a ridiculous ticket money, after what there is a 98% chance to get rude note from the "lady" selling them. Must have a ticket even if you want to use the bathroom and pay extra for food. Best is to just take a picture from the parking lot and just drive on.
  • Wow, rude service. Do you have a menu? Go look its on the door. U came in inconvinient time. We are waiting for the customers😁 When they gave a food, only then informed that I have to go eat outside 😁 And it was windy +6. This place is unbelievable. Worst service in Estonia so far!
  • Nice place to visit. Good cafe and nice exposition to see.
  • Windmills in good condition, cheap entry fee, food was also OK.
  • Who in their right mind pay 13 euro to see a windmill?
