Narva Museum, Narva

Overlooking its Russian counterpart on the other side of the river, Narva Museum represents the city's top attraction and supports a local historical museum. Visit the fortification, originally constructed by the Danish in 1256 and upgraded to its sturdy stone version in the 1400s, and explore its grounds and gardens. Climb to the top of the 51 m (167 ft) high main defensive tower, standing guard imposingly over the rest of the complex. From there you'll be rewarded with a sweeping view of the surrounding town and a good vantage point to see across the river into Russia. At the museum you'll learn more about the history of the castle and the city of Narva itself. There are often temporary art and other exhibits held there. • I must say that nothing especially unimpressed. This is a very ascetic construction and do not say that the majestic. Strong "four".

  • In the Narva Castle I have visited on several occasions. Like, literally, everything. Herman Tower is the Museum of the history of Narva. In the halls of the presented a variety of exposure relating to the history of the city from ancient times to the present day. The halls wondering to wander and to look just so, even without ordering excursions with a guide, but if you first visit Narva (and Museum), then I advise you not to be too lazy to spend a few euros and all did it (the tour). You will not regret: story guide very fascinating (to me, anyway, I liked it) and contains a wealth of fascinating and interesting information. Just after the tour, I advise you to climb the observation deck of the Tower: beautiful views and over the River, and the city, and lies on the opposite bank of Narova Ivangorod fortress. And in the Northern yard, where recreated workshops designed to support fortress both in peacetime and in wartime. Several times, in the courtyard of the Castle happened to be watching the reconstruction of various historical events. Of the cons, perhaps the only one. The castle was badly damaged during WWII. After the war, the castle was restored, but restoration work has not yet fully completed. In General, pleasant experiences. If you're in Narva, I advise to visit the Narva Castle.

  • A full ticket for 7 euros, and show particularly nothing, unless of course you're not a fan of history. The castle is much more interesting exposition. Will have to go up the stairs, but it is possible to reach the viewing platform, from where great views. The courtyard with the atmosphere of old times and people in appropriate costumes.

  • I guess only the Castle, from which you can see ... "Competition". ;) Exciting exhibitions, well laid out. And Polish accents to find. An interesting fact is that the Lady of life to hear how I talk with her daughter after the Polish attempted to sell me "Krakow lace", or napkins.
