Narva Castle, Narva

Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 150 reviews on the web
Overlooking its Russian counterpart on the other side of the river, Narva Castle represents the city's top attraction and supports a local historical museum. Visit the fortification, originally constructed by the Danish in 1256 and upgraded to its sturdy stone version in the 1400s, and explore its grounds and gardens. Climb to the top of the 51 m (167 ft) high main defensive tower, standing guard imposingly over the rest of the complex. From there you'll be rewarded with a sweeping view of the surrounding town and a good vantage point to see across the river into Russia. At the museum you'll learn more about the history of the castle and the city of Narva itself. There are often temporary art and other exhibits held there. • In fact, except for the fortress at Narva watch nothing. Now inside the Museum of the history of Narva and Estonia in General. Is inexpensive, if you decide to "place" the Estonian visa and cross the border on foot, you can visit once. More in town, in my opinion, look particularly nothing.
