Historic Site
The windmill Trahter Veski represents a monument of national importance, with its typical Dutch architectural style. Built in 1899, this well-preserved structure served its function until World War II, when enemy forces cut off its blades in an effort to prevent the locals from using them to send secret signals. Standing 17 m (56 ft) tall, the brick windmill now features reconstructed blades and sits surrounded by traditional gardens. The site also houses a restaurant, where you can try homemade beer and a multitude of local dishes. • Housed in a wonderful old mill pub-restaurant with wooden furniture, old utensils, panoramic balcony, good food and delicious ginger ale! The staff was very friendly and helpful!

  • The restaurant is located in an old mill. Interior pleases. Cute rag dolls. Our nimble enough waiters, in addition to Estonian. And here is the food is not very good. Ordered the pork shank. We brought smoked pork leg (this can be ready to buy in a butcher shop), simply warmed and not to the end (in the middle of it was cold). With the tasteless boiled potatoes. The only thing that has pleased this cabbage was made good. Local beer also tasteless.

  • The menu was a little surprising at first with the prices higher than expected from a place like this. But the food was really worth the price and the service was excellent!  more »
