Suur Toll and Piret, Kuressaare

Categories: Monuments, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.7/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web
Look for the statue of Suur Toll and Piret--great heroes of Estonian mythology--carrying a boat loaded with fish. According to legend, Suur was a gentle giant who protected his people by tossing enormous rocks at enemies. Piret, his wife, always made sure his basic needs were fulfilled--the cabbage soup was on the table, the sauna was heated, and there was enough beer for the day. You can take a Suur Toll tour at one of the hotels, which involves all the giant's favorites--cabbage soup, sauna, and a lot of beer. • If you visit eh just the Castle castle, you can see also this statue. But does not have one, because it really is nothing special.

  • At first seemed very strange creation. But after describing, became evaluated differently. Very colorful sculpture with shades of national culture.

  • If you have a walk near the castle you'll probably walk by this statue. It's fun but not exactly an attraction.
  • If one dwells in Kuressaare, you should look at this cheerful and fun-loving plastic!
