Head 2,381 m (7,812 ft) above sea level at Santa Ana Volcano, El Salvador’s highest volcano. Following a moderately difficult hike to the top, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of pristine surroundings. You'll also gaze upon a turquoise crater lake, located at the summit, and enveloped by four nested calderas and volcanic craters. Bring good hiking shoes, plenty of water, and snacks. It is a very nice hick, but shouldn't be done alone, but with an organized tour, by the national park. The view is Superb more »

I say to you that the photos do not do justice to what you'll see when you reach the Summit, is worth the climb (and they are almost two hours) but is very poorly organized. Do you get to the reception of the Volcano area, where are the accommodations and food (lots of variety and authentic Salvadoran) stalls there leave the previous car parking payment. And you begin to walk to discover that, after half an hour, you go through restaurant road you left to come. So you can save those 30' contributing nothing and start the route from there. And you'll save other 30' back (rising after more than three hours, so that thanks saving) there is only one output at 11:00, so let us all together (a group of more than 100 people) which makes it very difficult to walk , there are people who are going very slowly because they are not accustomed. You get up, leave you 45' and down. But each at your own pace, almost uncontrollably, and along the way there are a couple of viewpoints with a spectacular view but as I said at the beginning, it is worthView original -
Egy könnyű túrával jutottunk fel a vulkán tetejére. Innen fantasztikus látvány tárult elénk. Mind a vulkán belsejében fortyogó víz, mind a többi vulkán és a tó llátványa gyönyörű! more »
A light tour we got up to the top of the volcano. From here, it was a fantastic sight. Both inside the volcano simmering water, and the rest of the volcano and the Lake llátványa beautiful!View original

Beautifully colored sulphuric lake. Well organized and moderate hike to the peak. Worth the effort to visit!

If you love nature and hiking. You are going to love this place. Excellent land scapes.

An amazing place with very beautiful views. It is not a very expensive one day excursion with a not very difficult hike to the top. It costed me just over 10 dollars for everytjing including oublic transport to the place. There was also a guy selling an ice cream on the top, so it was possible to enjoy the views with a frozen banana on the top!

It's absolutely unusual experience to see green boiling water in a crater. Going up is no so hard. If the sky is clear, you can see another volcano and coatepeque lake on the top. Definitely worth visiting.

Great place to visit for local and foreign people. Amazing views from Izalco Volcano and Coatepeque Lake. This is a volcano with a green sulfuric pond inside thats is boiling at all times. Pretty awesome. Visit El Salvador.
