  • The hike to the top takes about two hours. It's medium difficulty. You need to bring water and you need to have proper shoes. Althoug it's hot while climbing to top, it' s worth it. The view is amazin...  more »
  • This was an amazing hike! Let’s start off by saying it’s a little tough (at least for me) maybe the fact that I had just jumped off the plane and hadn’t slept good or eaten good in the last day had to...  more »
  • Volcano with a lot of vegetation varied. Difficulty intermediate/advanced level. Wonderful views along the way, but especially at the top.

  • An amazing place with very beautiful views. It is not a very expensive one day excursion with a not very difficult hike to the top. It costed me just over 10 dollars for everytjing including oublic transport to the place. There was also a guy selling an ice cream on the top, so it was possible to enjoy the views with a frozen banana on the top!
  • Great place to visit for local and foreign people. Amazing views from Izalco Volcano and Coatepeque Lake. This is a volcano with a green sulfuric pond inside thats is boiling at all times. Pretty awesome. Visit El Salvador.
  • It's absolutely unusual experience to see green boiling water in a crater. Going up is no so hard. If the sky is clear, you can see another volcano and coatepeque lake on the top. Definitely worth visiting.
  • The best place in El Salvador
  • My wife and I decided to hike this volcano, it has been one of my toughest experiences but it was worth it. I would recommend this is a MUST DO when you visit El Salvador. Advise: You will need some guides from the National Park in order to hike, prepare to pay some fees from $1 for nationals until $20 for internationals.
