Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web
Explore the rich plant life at Parque Nacional El Boqueron, set on top of the massive San Salvador Volcano. Choose from one of the well-marked hiking trails, some more challenging than others, and trek to the park's main attraction, the Boqueron crater. Admire the vast crater, 5 km (3 mi) in diameter, from picturesque viewpoints. See the much smaller crater within the large one, affectionately nicknamed "Boqueroncito." The interesting scenery here is the result of a 1917 volcanic eruption. • Very pleasant and friendly place, the climate and the views breathtaking. It's relaxing to share with friends and walk a little, feel the fresh air and enjoy good company. I definitely recommend it, the Park is nice to spend a day out of the hustle and bustle of the city.

  • Nice views...decent food at the many roadside stands
  • Nice place, that everyone should visit.
  • Simply beautiful and the weather oh so blissful! Breathless and priceless views on the way over there
  • Must see this place if you are in San Salvador or around the area!
  • It is the ideal place to foreigners who visit the country, although they say open early really open at 8 am. They should have tariff differential as well as it is in other countries, since currently the general rate is for 3 dollars with the parking. This Park is a biological reserve declared well of State by General Maximiliano Hernández Martínez in the 30s years, on what was the eruption of the volcano of San Salvador in 1917.
