Pay a visit to Iglesia El Rosario, a modern church and landmark of San Salvador. Built in 1971 by notable local sculptor Ruben Martinez, the church has a simple concrete and red-brick exterior that belies its striking interior. Wander inside to see an arching ceiling of stained glass, filtering natural light into a rainbow of colors. Whether you're religious or not, you can appreciate the artistic beauty of the church, which features an eclectic metal and stone rendition of the twelve stages of the cross. Padre Delgado, known as the leader of the Salvadoran independence movement, is buried here.
