Church
Pay a visit to Iglesia El Rosario, a modern church and landmark of San Salvador. Built in 1971 by notable local sculptor Ruben Martinez, the church has a simple concrete and red-brick exterior that belies its striking interior. Wander inside to see an arching ceiling of stained glass, filtering natural light into a rainbow of colors. Whether you're religious or not, you can appreciate the artistic beauty of the church, which features an eclectic metal and stone rendition of the twelve stages of the cross. Padre Delgado, known as the leader of the Salvadoran independence movement, is buried here. • It makes a few years had the opportunity to sing in this church, and never had been within her, but had already heard that glassware was beautiful with the passage of light, and indeed, was cute uy that multicolored color that gives to the altar, and for us, our scenario. They should drop when the light is strong so they appreciate the magic of this church!

  • Next to the freedom square, in the historic centre of San Salvador, sits the El Rosario Church; a true island surrounded by streets that enclose abandonment, markets and dirt. Completed build in 1965 by the notable architect and sculptor, Rubén Martínez, this grand structure of grey and cement raw is imposed for its curious design of roof at arco. However, it is on the inside where hides one of the most important architectural treasures of El Salvador. Simply login to be amazed with its eighty meters of length and twenty high, and a wonderful vaulted sky full of windows colors that reflect incoming light in different directions. Equally impressive modernity, scarce decoration and an altar located throughout, contrary to what is often seen in more traditional churches. The Majesty of simplicity and breadth of space - where there are no walls or pillars that separate environments, the use of cement and iron as key elements in its construction and a minimalist design, could generate a cold or little cozy; However, the colors of the stained glass windows and the freshness of materials invite tranquility and reflection. If the visitor is in front of the altar, hand right at the end, you will find another small altar and a cross; the latter also made by Rubén Martínez, who once again surprise with fourteen stations designed and built in stone and iron. Each of the episodes, focusing on hands and arms, form a semicircle that lead us from left to right on a journey full of symbolism and sensitive. This architectural jewel is part - since 1971, of the religious heritage of El Salvador. Visit must-see for foreign and local tourists who appreciate history and art. I recommend visiting it in the morning or in the evening when the light enters through the sides and creates a wonderful kaleidoscope of colors. Parking safe and paid a few blocks in building of parking "morazan", opposite Plaza Morazan.
