Museo de la Revolucion Salvadorena, Perquin

#4 of 12 in Museums in El Salvador
If you’re looking to absorb a little history, head out to Museo de la Revolucion Salvadorena to learn about the El Salvadoran wars. Though small in scale, the museum offers many artifacts and exhibits from the era to take in, showcasing the events that unfolded during the 12-year civil war. Most exhibits are only available in Spanish, so if you don’t know the language, a guide is highly recommended. Many guides fought in the war, so you'll hear valuable anecdotes about the guerrillas who lived and fought here. • This is a destination of rigour in the path of peace, my opinion is to visit it with a guide, if not, they will not find taste to place him. The place is missing innovate and renew the exhibitions.

  • We're going to Perquín, a mountain village, where there is a Museum, which is dedicated to the guerilla revolution. Pleased to look after the older fighters of this museum. The visitor learns the difficulties which they faced, the occupied zones, the help of the United States at the State military and practically monopolists aid from Cuba to them. The capture of the capital with the weapons distributed in cars all over the city and the surprise factor on the day of the occupation. I'll informed about the inexhaustible experiences of the guerrilla movement, but with a certain expression of disappointment. "Unfortunately everything has brought nothing", are bitter to understand someone from the group. On the day after the signing of the peace treaty, returned the rich back to his palace and the poor in his misery.

  • Inserting and engaging historical displays of the civil war in this part of Wl Salvador. Members of the community may offer to help show one around, albeit the displays speak for themselves (if you wish such additional assistance, be prepared to tip -- otherwise be clear you are on your own and you may be relentlessly "shadowed," which can be highly annoying). Behind the museum (for an additional $1), is a "guerrilla camp" with even more - and interesting - displays. So in reality, it's a combination affair: the museum and the guerrila camp.
