Lake Coatepeque, Coatepeque
Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Take in the spectacular views of green hills surrounding a deep blue body of water at Lake Coatepeque. Plenty of water-sport activities await you in the crater itself; don't miss the surreal experience of a swim or boat ride inside an actual volcano. Enjoy the views while dining or sipping on your favorite beverage from one of the many venues on the hills overlooking the lake. Sunsets here are particularly special. It has an area of 25.3 km and a depth of 115 meters. Account with a small island of name Teopán, which can be crossed only by ferry and only if it is residing in some property on the island. Even though Coatepeque is one of the most beautiful and recommended tourist places to visit in El Salvador, it is in turn - contradictorily - one of the places with more restricted access for tourists and the public in general. The latter, since the properties surrounding the Lake are closed, private access and exclusive (something that would be unthinkable and prohibited, because it is a national asset and of course in other countries of the world use public). For tourists wishing to visit the Lake by day, I recommend a lunch in the pampas of Argentina. This modern restaurant, with specialty in grilled meats, offers attention - that on weekends may be somewhat saturated - but well worthwhile for the spectacular view from the spacious terrace and the cool climate of the area. Who seek a hotel or accommodation for the weekend, there are options as the Hotel Torremolinos, the Rancho Alegre or them Palm trees, between them options of range medium more accessible. Those who prefer something Premier and most exclusive, is, Cardedeu Residence, from the same owners of the Argentina Pampa.show original
