  • Founded around 900 AD after the collapse of the Mayan empire, the site was burned. It remained buried until it was found in 1925. It is a large site with ball ground as well as a ceremonial site. Not ...  more »
  • A surprise was to reach this place, my expectations were very low. Since it enters the plain all change, the site is super you notice that it was a city of great importance. See the central pyramid, games fields, and the area where they were the houses of the town. All of that combined with the crows and seagulls flying. A safe and clean place.

  • This was the first archaeological site to be excavated in El Salvador. His three square kilometers would the site's largest country; to date, archaeologists have identified seven pueblos, but only one has been explored.

  • Great place if you like to learn about the history of El Salvador and some of its early inhabitants. The place has a small museum where you can learn about the history of this Mayan city. Very safe and a great learning experience.
  • A great place to go and ride a family, so known first-hand our roots, since this place is unique in its nature that has a ball park.

  • The field of ball is an identical construction to the of copan. It is an enigmatic as to its disappearance, mystical place by the layout of the buildings in relation to the horizon such as san Andrés archaeological site

  • It is of the few structure that has almost completely restored ball games area. This site is located in the Department of San Salvador, close to the town of Aguilares. It is believed that its occupation is reduced to the early Postclassic. Not is discarded that this site has had influence Toltec in its aftermath and is came to speak in nahual in the region. Around 1300 A.d., Cihuatán was abandoned. By be a site hot is recommended clothing and shoes comfortable and it available for walking (not requires Guide, in the Café there are to available brochures). Bring enough water, sunglasses, Cap or hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. You can also visit the Museum. Rates: $1.00 for national and centromaericanos / $3.00 for foreigners. $1.00 light vehicles / $2.00 buses. * Free entry to national under 8 years of age and older than 60.
