Valley of the Kings, Luxor

#2 of 137 in Things to do in Luxor
Cemetery · Ruin
Journey back in time by visiting Valley of the Kings, one of the world's most significant archaeological sites, dating back to the Egyptian New Kingdom. The area contains about 63 tombs and chambers, final resting places of pharaohs and nobles. A handful of tombs, including that of Tutankhamen, have been opened to the public--with its artwork and layout, it remains indicative of ancient Egyptian ingenuity. • Definitely one to tick off the bucket list. We had up to 3 temples to visit included on our ticket, and all of them were just awe inspiring. Its best to have a tour guide with you to relate the...  more »
  • Outstanding place, brilliant art, vivid colors.... Jaw dropping. Whoever is visiting Luxor must go and see it. I'd say it is as important as the pyramids!!  more »
  • An absolute must do in Luxor! Be careful for "tour guides" who want to give you the "authentic" experience, they can be pushy.  more »
  • As a person who enjoys the pleasure of visiting new places in the world, this place is a awesome place to visit for the educational side of things, and the pleasure of visiting the past to see what life is like in the past. It's a place steeped in history, and I have to say that I would love to revisit the place again, on any occasion.
  • Several amazing tombs of several ancient Egyptian kings with colourful walls and cravings Pictures will never be enough describing the real view. You will love the visit doubtlessly hundred percent ❤️
  • I came here twenty years ago and they have made lots of improvements since then. It's really an enjoyable few hours. Make sure you have a guide as they are an absolute must for you to appreciate the tombs and the hieroglyphics. Tutankhamun's tomb has a separate ticket but again it's a must see. This place truly is special.
  • No doubt, an astonishing place. December 2020 with very few tourists and pleasant temperatures, it was a joy to walk around in peace and see everything.
  • This is a unique place to visit. Now is the ideal time for this - few tourists, not very hot. The main thing to remember is that with one ticket you can enter only 3 tombs. And to visit the famous tomb of Pharaoh Tutenhamun, you need to buy a separate ticket.
