Qubbet el-Hawa or "Dome of the Wind" is a site on the western bank of the Nile, opposite Aswan, that serves as the resting place of ancient nobles and priests from the Old and Middle Kingdoms of ancient Egypt. The necropolis in use from the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt until the Roman Period.Take a look at our Aswan trip planner to schedule your visit to Qubbet el-Hawa and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.
The site was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979 along with other examples of Upper Egyptian architecture, as part of the "Nubian Monuments from Abu Simbel to Philae" (despite Qubbet el-Hawa being neither Nubian, nor between Abu Simbel and Philae).

Our cruise ship reached Aswan around 9 PM and I was on the top deck. I was amazed by the illuminated Spaceship-like mountain. So beautiful and peaceful especially the rippling reflection.
