  • A rather typical Egyptian museum, it contains a good range of artefacts which are not effectively displayed or annotated for the international visitor, a great pity.  more »
  • I was amazed by the place! They tell you the whole story of Aswan (starting from 6000 B.C till the present). The storytelling factor there was exquisite. The museum is extremely clean as well.  more »
  • The history of the Nuba must be taught in textbooks. All countries of the world have a history, and it came back terrifying and unexpected. The Nuba became in my heart because of this visit. I loved.....  more »
  • One Egypt’s nicest museums. It would get a five star rating but the ticket salesmen would not give me the proper change for the longest time. Well organized and nice artifacts on display.
  • This was the most unexpected find in Egypt. It's actually a very high quality museum that tells the whole history of the Nubian area from prehistoric humans through the UNESCO project to save Egyptian monuments from the flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam in the mid 1900s. The museum is small and has limited artifacts, but the story it tells is very complete. I am sad to say that I wish the Egyptian Museum in Cairo was even a quarter put together as the Nubian Museum. Very well done and worth the afternoon to visit.
  • Nice museum. Some of the displays were a bit hard to read because of the low light. The Nubian homes with mannequins in folk costume were very interesting. Also, the gardens were pretty. Be sure to bring exact change, as several people before us were turned away for lack of change. Great to have an opportunity to learn more about this culture.
  • This is the best museum experience we have had in Egypt. The building is modern, attractive and cool inside. The exhibits are well laid out, well lit and have good explanations. There are also good summaries of the general history of Nubia throughout the ages. You really can you here and enjoy the place without a guide. We didn’t get any hassle at all as well, which is a first.
  • a really good museum for the Nubian civilization, signs are clear, great artifacts and work, and it opens at night! good easy activity to do after a long day
