Montazah Gardens, Alexandria

Must see · Garden · Nature / Park
Once a royal retreat, Montazah Gardens are now a landscaped public park and forest reserve. The two summer palaces on the grounds display contrasting architectural styles, one influenced by the Moorish traditions, the other with a distinctly Florentine and Turkish look to it. The parkland around the structures features wilder, open spaces of greenery, as well as artfully arranged garden areas. A small cove offers a secluded strip of sand by the sea, with extensive views along the Mediterranean coast. • We paid an entrance fee to go inside by car but couldn’t go in the palace as it was closed. Also lots of construction currently going on around.  more »

  • Just love it. Best place to bring your children. Lovely place. A lot of people come here to play, to arrange picnic, for wedding photoshoot. The children can do a lot. You can play football. The lighthouse is there. The beach is one of the best beaches in Alexandria. I just love this place. I recommend this for all types of people of all ages. But you need to bring your own food to eat. You can spend the whole day there. So you have to take food and drink. Only 25£E for the entrance.
  • Relaxing walk in a well kept landscaping of grass flowers and palm trees. .the sea is at your site. The palace is beautiful from outside and hold a history inside.
  • Nice park, but lack basic food services. A lot of nice places are closed for no reason. E.g. the light house seams as a nice place to take photos and be in the middle of the sea and it was closed. Many places are closed for construction with no signs of construction!
  • Beautiful park. Should be better that cars cannot enter there. Nice views. Unfortunately it is not possible to visit the palace.
  • Really liked the place! Took some foreigner friends there and it was a good experience for all. You can find some really nice restaurants there, with a variety of choices (seafood is the best tho, can't argue that). Many activities as well to try, we took a speed boat for 30 mins and it was pretty exciting moment. I highly recommend it if you wanna spend a nice Friday afternoon.
