Create an itinerary including Montazah Gardens
Once a royal retreat, Montazah Gardens are now a landscaped public park and forest reserve. The two summer palaces on the grounds display contrasting architectural styles, one influenced by the Moorish traditions, the other with a distinctly Florentine and Turkish look to it. The parkland around the structures features wilder, open spaces of greenery, as well as artfully arranged garden areas. A small cove offers a secluded strip of sand by the sea, with extensive views along the Mediterranean coast. • Spectacular architecture and wonderful views. The whole park around the palace is renovated and it was made even better. Definitely, it's worth a visit.
  • A must go for travelers visiting Cairo. Wonderful place with a lot of history behind it. Tour guides speak impeccable English and it’s a beautiful sight on Cairo when on top. Be aware of small souvenir salesmen stationed before the entrance.
  • Totally under construction. Complete makeover is going on now, all roads are dug up and under construction. Also the main palace is going through renovations. The hotel Palestine is still running. I’m sure it will be better than it was before and will be the place to go in Alexandria.
  • Beautiful palace & surrounding gardens, although there were renovations there, the place is still open to spend time in the finished areas which are beautiful & clean. We paid 25 LE per person upon entry & they tell you in advance that it’s unfinished & construction work is still being done there, however we had a great time there! Will definitely be coming back to see the whole place when it’s finished.
  • Undergoing refurbishing and renovations, this mighty and luxurious palace is witnessing heavy changes (which cost it a star less in its rating). Too bad because it's glorious as it was and should have stayed so. Traditionally, it was the king's summer residence with opulence that is now tainted with changes. Still, a great place to visit and enjoy.
